Hua Hin

Hua Hin SignJust three hours bus travel south of Bangkok is Hua Hin, the oldest holiday resort in Thailand. It was first used in the 1920s when by King Rama VII started using the fishing village for a get away from Bangkok, turning Hua Hin into a Royal Resort and following this, many of the Thai upper classes began to use Hua Hin for holidays. Since Hua Hin opened its train station it became a very busy destination for Bangkok residents who preferred to travel there by train. Although a still very active fishing port Hua Hin has developed into a popular travel destination with many resorts and hotels.

Though it tends to be a little quieter than many of the other Thailand destinations when it comes to its nightlife, Hua Hin still offers many restaurants and bars for an evening’s entertainment. Hua Hin is famed around Thailand for it's multitude of excellent golf courses, boasting world class facilities at a cheap rate, and many Chinese and Japanese tourists travel to Hua Hin just for this reason.
